COP30 Belém – German Climate Pavilion
German Federal Government
In November 2025, the 30th UN Climate Change Conference (COP30) took place in Belém, Brazil, bringing together government representatives, scientists, civil society organizations and stakeholders from all over the world to address the global climate crisis.
I was once again commissioned to develop the graphic concept and visual identity for the German Climate Pavilion.
Situated in the Amazon region, the conference focused on the protection of forests, climate finance and the implementation of existing climate goals, highlighting the role of ecosystems like the rainforest in global climate regulation.
This focus also defined the visual direction for the German Climate Pavilion. My aim was to translate the “Forest” theme into a spatial graphic language that works within the pavilion’s architecture and stage setting. The design uses large-scale illustrative elements of plants and leaves, scaled and abstracted so that they read more as layered color fields, structuring the space and guiding the viewer’s perception. Deep green tones form the visual base, complemented by bright, floral color accents that add contrast and draw attention to key areas.
The composition is intentionally open: elements overlap and extend across surfaces, creating depth and continuity while referencing natural systems. This supports the pavilion’s role as a space for dialogue and exchange.
