COP30 Belém – German Climate Pavilion
German Federal Government
In November 2025, the 30th session of the UN climate conference (COP30) took place in Belém, Brazil, bringing together government representatives, scientists, civil society organizations and stakeholders from all over the world in a joint effort to tackle the global climate crisis.
For COP30 I was commissioned again to design the graphic concept and visual identity of the German Climate Pavilion — this time with the thematic focus “Forest”. My aim was to create a welcoming and location-thematic atmosphere that reflects the importance of forests for climate action, biodiversity, and global climate justice.
Inspired by the Pavilion’s ambition to be a space for dialogue, exchange and collaboration, I developed a visual identity that evokes the serenity, vitality and connectivity of a forest: subtle textures reminiscent of foliage and natural surfaces; a color palette rooted in earthy greens and soft, natural tones; and graphic elements that suggest growth, layers, and organic interconnection — a visual nod to tree canopies, roots, and ecosystems.
These design choices reinforce the Pavilion’s role as a gathering place for people working on climate solutions and sustainable future visions. The visual identity supports a setting of openness, calm and shared purpose — inviting visitors to slow down, reflect, connect, and act together.
