COP29 – German Climate Pavilion
German Federal Government
From November 11 to 22, 2024, the 29th UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) took place in Baku, Azerbaijan. I was commissioned to develop the graphic concept and visual identity of the German Pavilion and to execute its implementation across all design applications. Over several months, I collaborated closely with all stakeholders to create a cohesive and visually striking graphic identity.
The pavilion architecture by gtp2 was planned and designed as a space of openness, dialog and sustainability – and also the graphic design picks up on these aspects throughout the entire visual identity: The core of the graphic concept is the geometrically abstracted visualization of transparency, connection and movement. The overlapping axes on the back wall of the stage symbolize dialogue, networking and shared perspectives. At the same time, they create spatial depth and offer visually strong surfaces for stage formats and dynamic camera perspectives. The color scheme is based on sustainable lightness: transparent color surfaces in shades of green and blue create a calm atmosphere and underline the open, inviting character of the pavilion.
