Study “Quelle: Internet?!”

Stiftung Neue Verantwortung

In 2021, Stiftung Neue Verantwortung (a Berlin-based tech policy think tank, now interface) published the study „Quelle: Internet?!“ examining the digital information and news literacy of the German population. The goal was to assess how well people can identify misinformation, verify sources, and navigate today’s digital information landscape.

The visual design concept centered on representing the study’s six core competencies through distinct character illustrations, making abstract ideas more relatable and engaging for a broad – primarily younger – audience. I created both the illustrations and the infographics for the study. The visual design of the study was later adapted into an interactive web app by the digital agency nach morgen, which remains widely used in schools and educational settings across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
